Ho’ola Farms is a Rotary Partner —that keeps us “rooted.”   Mahalo from HOPE Services…
  • On Saturday April 22, 2023 during Rotary At Work, Rotary Club of West Pearl Harbor, Kapolei, Kapolei Sunset, and Ewa Beach came together for a joint service project weeding and preparing soil around a 11000 sq feet coconut tree planting area on UH West Oahu supporting Niu NOW! - a movement focusing on Hawaiian cultural revitalization, environmental conservation and local food production.  The coconut tree is a fundamental practice of food security. It is considered the tree of life in most tropical regions and Hawaii was once a nation nourished with it. Overall, we spent around 4-5 hours working on site and had in total about 50-60 volunteers join us, including Red Hill Joint Force Task, Phi Theta Kappa honor society students of Waipahu High School and Kapolei High school interacts.
  • I would like to share a wonderful story written by Highlands Intermediate School (HIS) Student Activities Coordinator and HIS RCOP Interact Club Advisor Mr. Eric White. The HIS Student Council recently won a Student Council Top National Award for their leadership, service and activities that improved the school and community. They were recognized as 2023 National Gold Council of Excellence by the National Student Council.
The HIS Student Council national award-winning members are also members of the HIS RCOP Interact Club. They have volunteered several hours in the community during the 2022-23 school year helping out alongside RCOP community volunteers to clean and beautify the RCOP Puuloa Springs native Hawaiian Garden Project that is located along the Pearl Harbor shoreline and Pearl Harbor Bike Path in Pearl City/Aiea. Congratulations to Mr. Eric White and his amazing HIS 2023 National Gold Council of Excellence award winners!  The RC of Pearlridge is extremely proud of your accomplishments and commitment to excellence in leadership at Highlands Intermediate School and in the community. (Submitted by Barry Villamil, RC of Pearlridge)
