A Message From Your District Governor Nancy Cabral
Aloha Fellow Rotarians,
It is with heartfelt excitement and deep gratitude that I step into the role of District Governor for Rotary District 5000 on July 1. I’m honored to serve alongside each of you as we continue to build on the incredible legacy of service, leadership, and fellowship that defines Rotary in Hawai‘i.
First and foremost I want to congratulate all the incoming club officers and boards, as well as the District Leadership Team for their dedication and commitment to further Rotary's mission to do good in the world. We want to continue the work of those who have traveled this Service Above Self path. Picture me—cowgirl hat on, lasso in hand—not just ready to wrangle cattle but to unite our incredible members across the islands! I’m here to support and uplift our clubs as we work together to make a lasting impact through meaningful projects, memorable club experiences, and the genuine friendships that connect us.
The 2025-26 presidential message, announced at the 2025 Rotary International Assembly in February, is Unite for Good, which calls on Rotary members to be a force for unity in a world increasingly divided by politics, geography, and ideology. Through service projects, Rotary brings together people of every background — across races, religions, and professions — in a shared mission to do good in their communities.
There is a change in how Rotary’s presidential message is presented. Beginning in the 2025-26 Rotary year, the traditional annual “presidential theme” will be replaced by a more consistent “presidential message.” This shift is designed to streamline branding and communication, ensuring a unified and cohesive voice across Rotary. The presidential message is intended to communicate a central message aligned with the Rotary Action Plan, with the intent of avoiding confusion caused by a different theme and logo each year.
Calgary Convention Highlights: It was great to see so many of our D5000 Rotarians at the Calgary Convention! We heard inspiring speakers, learned more about Rotary's accomplishments and had fun sitting together in the General Sessions.
