Hawai'i Rotary District 5000 Hotel Block at

Westin Melbourne Hotel - DISCONTINUED

Update - September 5, 2022:  We did not meet the 15-room minimum, so the Hawai'i Rotary District 5000
hotel block at Westin Melbourne Hotel is no longer available.
Please look for an alternative now (see above links).

If you are interested in staying with other Hawaii Rotary members during the convention, Hawai'i Rotary District 5000
has reserved a block of hotel rooms. Instead of booking a room directly at one of the Rotary hotels or your own accommodation
you can sign up to be part of the Hawaii room block. That makes it easy to meet up with other Hawaii Rotary members
early or late in the day or to go over to the convention center together.

The Hawai'i Rotary District 5000 room block has been assigned to us at the Westin Melbourne Hotel on Collins Street.
Melbourne Rotarians advise staying in this part of the city for the best shops and restaurants during the convention.

It is also centrally located between the Rod Laver Arena, where some sessions will be held,
and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre where other sessions and the House of Friendship will be located.

Melbourne has a world-class tram system running through downtown, and trams will be free to Rotary members
during the convention to take you to the convention center.

Note that hotel prices on the Rotary site are quoted in Australian dollars. The current US$ cost for the Westin is
US$315.00 for double occupancy or US$305.00 for single occupancy. In Australian Dollars it is AUS$455 and AUS$435, respectively.

To hold the room block we are required to fill a minimum of 15 rooms. To get an accurate count
we will need you to sign up right away and make a two-night deposit payment by August 31, 2022
(credit card payment begins on July 1, 2022)

To reserve a room in the room block at the Westin Melbourne Hotel please sign up here (LINK IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE)

RI Convention Coming to Honolulu in 2027

Rotary announced it will hold its annual gathering in Honolulu for the membership service organization’s 118th convention on June 5-9, 2027.
Held in a different city around the world each year, Rotary conventions bring members from all continents and cultures
together to learn from various experts and share ideas for delivering long-term solutions to the
world’s most persistent humanitarian issues. Approximately 20,000 Rotary members from
170 countries were expected to attend the event in Honolulu in 2020,
which was estimated to bring $35-40 million into the local economy.

“After canceling our convention in 2020 due to COVID-19, we are grateful to the citizens of Honolulu for welcoming us again in 2027,” said Rotary International President Holger Knaack. “As a global organization that values bringing people together, we look forward to sharing and celebrating our friendships, cultures, and service in the spirit of Aloha.” “Beyond the incredible economic impact this convention will have, the people of Hawai’i will be inspired by the humanitarian causes of Rotary International, including promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies and protecting the environment. As a global community, Rotary members embody the values we cherish here, in Hawai’i.”  Organized by Rotary International in conjunction with the Honolulu Host Organizing Committee of local Rotary members, the convention will provide attendees with ample opportunities to experience Oahu’s many attractions.
