The D5000 International Service Team works with local clubs to develop international projects and design global grants of higher quality and greater scale by leveraging local Rotarian expertise, establishing connections between clubs in the district and a host or international partner, and creating a network of local experts to help with project planning and the grant process. International Service fulfills Rotary's mission of "advancing international understanding, goodwill and peace" throughout the world through the delivery of projects and programs in one of seven focus areas:
  • Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution
  • Disease Prevention and Treatment
  • Water and Sanitation
  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Basic Education and Literacy
  • Economic and Community Development
  • Environment
