The People of Action Summits will provide an opportunity for Rotary members to join forces with communities and industry experts to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face.  It’s all about individuals identifying issues, solving problems, and making a difference. Green Transportation and Clean Energy
Join Rotarians and Industry experts in Silicon Valley to reflect and focus on resilient green transportation and clean energy solutions. Discuss the present and future green transportation and alternative fuel solutions to create healthier and sustainable communities and mitigate the climate crisis from policy, technology, practice, and equity. Guided tours will be available, following the end of the Summit to three different organizations:  - Valley Transportation Authority's new multimodal Berryessa BART Station, - Caltrain's just-finished overhead catenary system, at the San Jose Diridon Station, for their new electric trains - Tesla's massive, state-of-the-art  Fremont manufacturing facility. Buses will be available to take to the tour location and back. The tour buses leave after the event ends at 2:00 PM and return approximately by 5:00 PM. Each bus has 45-person capacity; so, sign up for a tour when you register to attend - only if you are attending the event in-person.

Water: Source to Sea

Join Rotarians and community partners online or in-person for this water-focused summit hosted by the Rotary Club of Newport Beach on September 10-11, 2022. Two-day packages and single-day passes are available. Learn about the crucial link between water and planetary health, and how we each can become an ambassador for clean and healthy water. A major feature of the Summit will be hands-on water projects undertaken concurrently across our “Big West” Rotary districts that weekend.

Healthy Soils
Learn about the importance of healthy soils in our food production. Rotarians throughout our paired zones will develop actionable plans that we can all use to amplify our work as People of Action. To minimize our carbon footprint and maximize the number of people that can attend, this Summit is 100% virtual. An important aspect of a sustainable environment is caring for our soil from whence comes most of our food! Join Rotarians, Rotaractors and other soil champions for virtual “Healthy Soils” sessions in the morning followed by local hands-on soil projects around Colorado. You will hear subject matter experts from the Colorado State University Agricultural Department and Agricultural Extension service in Fort Collins, Colorado explain healthy soil management. This Zone-sponsored summit will inspire Rotarians and community members to advocate for healthy soil principles and consider service opportunities, like community gardens, in addition to their own gardening.

Stop Human Trafficking

Learn more about what human trafficking looks like in our own communities and what we can do to help prevent it. Rotarians throughout our paired zones will develop actionable plans that we can all use to amplify our work as People of Action.  Human trafficking worldwide is the second largest criminal activity, second only to drugs. Whether forced labor or sex trafficking, it is in every corner of the United States and your community is not immune to this heinous crime. As Rotarians or members of our communities, we need to be at the forefront of combatting modern-day slavery. Leave with an action plan and a play book for your district or club that will allow everyone to protect their families and community.
