Doing something special with your Rotary Club for Literacy that ties in with any of the 5 Avenues of Service? Feel free to share it with us! Send us text describing the activity and a JPG file as well (not larger then 500K please.)

This page will be used to share things that are too long to fit into quarterly Literacy Newsletters or that are so special you want to share it right away and not wait for a quarterly literacy newsletter publication!

We will place the information under the Related Pages, Links, or Files (as appropriate) at the left of this page. For example, if you take a video and upload it to Youtube, you can give us the URL (link) to go to so others can view a video of your club's literacy activity on Youtube. As always, be sure you have permission to use any photos or videos, before you send us the jpg files or Youtube links. And please tell us which of the Five Avenues of Service your Literacy activity was integrated into.

The Rotary International Five Areas of Service are:
  • Club Service focuses on making clubs strong. A thriving club is anchored by strong relationships and an active membership development plan.
  • Vocational Service calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society.
  • Community Service encourages every Rotarian to find ways to improve the quality of life for people in their communities and to serve the public interest.
  • International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more.
  • Youth Service recognizes the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs such as Rotaract, Interact, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Rotary Youth Exchange.

Please send information to the D5000 Literacy Chair.

D5000 looks forward to hearing from our clubs!
