Rotary District 5000 is being recognized as an Outstanding Advocate for Children at the October 4th Child & Youth Day ceremony at the State Capitol at 11:30am. The Hawai‘i Children & Youth Day is a statewide celebration honoring keiki (children) and ‘ōpio (youth). Established by the Hawai‘i State Legislature in 1993, it recognizes the contributions of young people and promotes community engagement. In 1997, Act 30 expanded the celebration to encompass the entire month of October as Children & Youth Month.
We will have 2 tents at the event, with the Honolulu Sunrise club coordinating volunteers. Various clubs are distributing goodie bags throughout the day. Thank you Honolulu Pau Hana, West Honolulu, Metro and Honolulu Sunrise!
